Introduction

Minas Gerais is the most important historical state of Brazil because there was a lot of slave’s history. A lot of churches were built there. The city became famous because of the amount of gold and precious stones in the mountains and rivers.

Ouro Preto
It is a historic town that is part of one of the richest cultural heritages of Minas Gerais. In 1698, the formerVilla Rica was founded thanks to the discovery of gold in the region.The origin of the city is the discovery of huge quantities of gold in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, a fact which led one of the most important episodes in our history: The Minas Conspiracy.This city is characterized by large houses, churches and ancient palaces, which were built in the era of gold exploration.

It is located 99km from Belo Horizonte.
